Its Finaly Here
Submitted by The Ninja Kid on Wed, 07/11/2007 - 09:39.Alright guys it finally arrived, when I got home from work there it was on my kitchen table.
The new PC(granted with no HDD or Optical drive)
At first looks i was worried after removing individual components from the big cardboard box at my feet and placing them on the table I became rather worried with the size of the CPU cooler the Zalman CNPS9700. It’s just purely massive, and as it was to find its home in a Micro ATX case I wasn’t sure if it would fit.

After making some measurements I found it would fit. . Just. . . problem being it had to be mounted 90degrees from normal mounting position (fan blowing air towards the top of the case instead of the rear of the case)
uATX baord with dual PCIex16
Submitted by The Ninja Kid on Fri, 26/10/2007 - 12:23.Hate to be a loser adn psot yet another forum btu this one is differant.
i need to knwo if anyone has heard of or has any info about Micro ATX mainboards suporting dual PCIe16x slots, im thinking of running dual 8800gts cards in order to run a tri screen gamming setup on either 3 30"dell screens or samsung screens, i do not want to go with smaller monitors, as i assume if i ran 3 17 i could possibly run all three of one video card with daul link, but as the 30" screens require dual link to run i would not be able to run 3 of them from a single card. . .
and yes it has to be a micro atx board or i woudlnt haev any porblems finding a mainboard would i
so im looking for a micro atx baord with daul pcie16x slots, as i dont want to be running a 8800GTX with like a crappy pci card fro the 3rd screen (not that i coudl anyway was it has to be daul link fro the 30" screens)
Time To Start Building!!!
Submitted by The Ninja Kid on Fri, 26/10/2007 - 09:03.Alright guys the time is almost here,
I now have a full time job so i will soon be able to afford to begin building my SFF Gaming PC,
instead of going with my original plan on a silverstone TJ08 case im acctualy going to start the build of with a Asus uATX barebones tower, it has a 300W PSU and a decent uATX mainboard with the G33 chipset so it can handle a quad core extreem chip if i wanted.
im going to start with a E2140 for the cpu, basicly coz i really want to get this build started and i cna overclock teh hell out of it with a Zalman cooler (dont worrie guys in about a month or so after i buy this i will be buying something along the lines of a E6750 or higher)
ill also start with 2GIG of 667 DDR2 memory i dont see ti worth going to 800 as when i upgrade the cpu ill upgrade the memory also and i want some memory to use with the 2140 CPU when i replace that.

New SFF Gamming Rig Idea
Submitted by The Ninja Kid on Wed, 05/09/2007 - 12:01.As some of you know I love SFF (Small Form Factor) cases, also some of you may remember I used to own a Shuttle X, the SN95G5 chassis. There are photos of it on the Krostech site.
Well that PC is no longer mine. I sold it to a friend a fair while ago now, and since have not really needed a high spec rig, so I have been running basic Intel© Pentium© 4 PC’s. They just don’t seem to cut it anymore, and as my current Machine has finally died I see this as a great time to upgrade to a:
‘High Power Gamming Rig’
I’ve never really owned a real Gamming rig before. The shuttle was the closest. Running a skt 939 3700+ x2 chip 1.5GIG memory and 256MEG graphics.
The thing keeping me of building a gamming rig is size, as I can’t seem to bring myself to own a full sized pc.
So now that I have decided to build a gamming rig, I have been looking around at parts and realised that I can still keep a rather small footprint even for gamming rig. I’m going to stay with SFF, but in the way of a Silverstone Temjin© TJ08 MATX (Micro ATX) case. The TJ08 takes a full size ATX power unit which is a must in a gamming system, and has enough room to fit the new Nvidia© 8800GTX series cards, which is surprising as not many mid towers can even accommodate the sheer size of the GTX series as they conflict with the hard drive bays.
