We are going to climb Mt Beerwah. For those of you who don't know what or where that is, its one of the glass house mountains, volcanic plugs situated between Caboolture and the sunshine coast hinterland.

We are going to meet up at the Morayfield BP Road House - out on the western side of the highway at 6AM. From there we will travel in convoy to Mt Beerwah arriving early enough to climb before the heat of the day. It is expected that we will be back down and home again around 12-1PM. If it is raining the event will be postponed

You will need to bring

  • Sunblock or suncream
  • Sunglasses
  • Broad brimmed hat or cap with sun protection
  • Loose fitting shorts (tough enough for sliding on rock) and t-shirt or singlet - overshirt to start in
  • Good firm fitting sneakers or running shoes with grippy soles - note we are climbing rock - its like concrete - if your shoes slip and slide on concrete don't wear them. You must be able to do your shoes up so your feet do not slide around in them (Dunlop Volleys are excellent
  • Water bottle - or 2 - at least 1 litre - preferably 2
  • Small backpack or bum bag to carry water bottle and overshirt in when removed and camera and sunblock etc
  • Camera
  • Parental permission slips if under 18 - see attachment

The event is limited to a maximum of 10 people - first in first served - check with your parents before committing please. Register by logging in and signing up to this event, or by emailing register@krostech.biz [1]

Notes
There is danger involved. We are going up a rock face that is very steep - not vertical. It is not a rock climbing grade, but there is "scrambling" involved.
If you get vertigo climbing on to a two story roof of a house then don't come as you will just ruin the day for everyone else.
If you are seriously unfit then also don't come. You will need to be able to go hard for 4 hours.
