New Games from UBISOFT for 2008

EndWar // Prince of Persia // Far Cry 2 // Hawx

EndWar -

The unthinkable happens in 2016. A nuclear exchange in the Middle East kills 20 million people and cripples the world's oil supply. Crude oil prices spike at $800 a barrel.

One year later, the threat of world-wide nuclear war is eliminated when the United States and Europe deploy a comprehensive space-based anti-ballistic missile shield. Russia soon follows with an advanced missile defense system of its own. Intercontinental ballistic missiles are rendered obsolete.

Russia becomes the world's primary supplier of energy and experiences a massive economic boom. With its newfound riches, Russia quickly re-establishes itself as a major superpower and restores her military might.

Western Europe, with the notable exception of the UK and Ireland, unifies to create the European Federation. This new nation is destined to be a formidable 21st-century Superpower.

In 2020, the United States is on the verge of finishing construction on the Freedom Star, a controversial orbital military platform that will upset the balance of world power. The European Federation withdraws from NATO in protest.

Tensions between the European Federation, the United States, and Russia are building and will soon reach the breaking point.

The EndWar is about to begin.

Prince of Persia -

Prince of Persia will be ninja-flipping his way through a new game on 360, PS3 and PC in late 2008, Ubisoft confirmed moments ago.

Simply titled 'Prince of Persia', the new game is in development at Ubisoft's Montreal Studio - the same guys responsible for the previous three iterations.

The announcement is about as tight as can be with actual gameplay details - it basically didn't offer any - but it does promise that the new game will "rejuvenate the action-adventure genre in addition to introducing a brand-new illustrative art style," so that's alright.

We expect a man in baggy trousers, climbing, and sword fights to feature.

The plot will start afresh, apparently "opening a new chapter in the Prince of Persia universe".

Ubi also confirmed that it's working on a portable version "specifically designed for the Nintendo DS system, featuring an entirely new storyline and new characters."

"More details to be unveiled in the future," says Ubisoft, and we should hope so, too. – Posted From Games Radar.

far cry 2 is brilliant. once

far cry 2 is brilliant. once again ubisoft have gone above and beyond with this game. So far I have only played single player, but that is very cool. there is maybe too many cut scenes but that adds to the game story and there is plenty of opportunity for action. It is a little slow starting, but you can just go for it and shoot anything that moves if you want.
