Its Finaly Here

Alright guys it finally arrived, when I got home from work there it was on my kitchen table.
The new PC(granted with no HDD or Optical drive)
At first looks i was worried after removing individual components from the big cardboard box at my feet and placing them on the table I became rather worried with the size of the CPU cooler the Zalman CNPS9700. It’s just purely massive, and as it was to find its home in a Micro ATX case I wasn’t sure if it would fit.

After making some measurements I found it would fit. . Just. . . problem being it had to be mounted 90degrees from normal mounting position (fan blowing air towards the top of the case instead of the rear of the case)
This isn’t too big an issue as the power unit has 2 fans and should be able to handle the new airflow, although it’s not ideal. .
Before i go any further here are the specs on the System
Asus V3-P5G33 Bare bones case (supports 1333 FSB and quad core extreme chips)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
2048MB Corsair 667 DDR2 memory
Albatron 8800GTS 320MB
Zalman CNPS9700 HSF
ThermalTake 430Watt PSU (from my old system)

I spent just over $1000.00 on the parts including postage and handling, so it’s not bad I guess.
Installing the CPU cooler was a rather stressful task, as it was a Bare Bones Case the motherboard was already installed so I had to first remove the mainboard fit the brackets for the HSF to the mainboard (while I had the mainboard out I also swapped the 300Watt PSU for my 430) really a lot of mucking around to get the thing seated right on the mainboard, got it seated eventually.
My first thoughts after getting it mounted were purely WOW!! It’s big. . .

Next was simple install the memory, yay for simple easy tasks. Had no dramas there. So I decided to mount the mainboard back in the case took a bit of effort to shoehorn it in there as there’s not much space to put the motherboard itself in little own with a massive HSF attached to it. Once it was in I centred it and screwed it onto the case, as you normally do, had to find my superuberleetscrewdriver as the HSF made it difficult to put the screws in.

After installing the mainboard i was surprised to find how much room for a graphics card there was, this tiny little case will easily fit a GTX card!! This amazed me as some full tower cases can’t fit a GTX without modding. . . With that in mind I installed my 8800GTS card with plenty of space around to spare, hopefully this will help with the cooling.

For cooling I have a 90mm server case fan at the back (200mA) and at the front a 80mm ThermalTake smart case fan2 (600mA) they make a lot of noise. . These along with a dual fan PSU giant HSF and my tidy cabling should keep this case cool.
I Installed my old Sony IDE DVD Burner in the top 5.25” bay and my 80GIG SATA drive in the very bottom 3.5” bay, for the hell of it I installed my black floppy drive also, the case came with an all in 1 card reader already installed. Ill be purchasing 2 removable SATA HDD 5.25” mounts so I can swap between vista and xp OS’s this will come sometime around Christmas when I order those parts each will also house a 250GIG SATA drive I have no need for 10,000 RPM raptor drives . . . also when those are replaced so will the 80GIG drive will somehow become a 500 or 1TB drive.
I’ll leave my little spiel at that for now. . . I might right a proper review on the case some time as I couldn’t find any real reviews on the case anywhere on the net, so I might as well be the first.

Ill post a pic of the
Ill post a pic of the finished case tonight as i dont have one i got lazy and stopped taking photos lol. . sorry.
im glad to say that the pc will make it to the 30hr lan and hopefully with another gig of memory then (two 512 sticks as 32bit cant run 4 gig) possibly if pay from work and putting down a house deposite permits a 30" dell screen or a 8950x2 when they are released, i want a 320bit card on the 65nm architecture. . is that two mutch two ask? lol i know the 8800GT is 65nm but its onlt 256bit, blah blah i know it games better but its not only for gaming. .
at least i should have the pc how it is now with an extra gig of mem and 22" lcd buy the 30hr, getting sick of carting 22" CRT around. . .
here you go i had one on my phone:
its crap quality but its from a motarolla phone so ehh
Ill et some photos of the internals fully done and all that some tome atm im at work and going out tonight so maybe tomorow night ill post some. also if anyone has a blue cold cathode i cna ahve would be greatly apreciated, looking to give it just a lil more blue light in there. . .
