After months of top-secret preparation, we are delighted to announce the Gameshadow Innovation in Games Festival and Awards. We've played hundreds of games, from glorious multi-million pound epics created by huge teams to tiny nuggets of gaming genius, made by one talented guy in his garage. All that matters in these Awards is one word: Innovation.

We want to recognise talent and originality in games, regardless of whether it's a huge number-one hit, or an obscure web-game hidden away in the darkest dustiest corner of the internet. We will reward studios that make innovative games that break boundaries, rather than people who achieve commercial success like most other awards.

We've assembled an elite team of judges representing all aspects of the games industry to help us select the winners. We've put together a list of different categories reflecting some of the most important areas and genres. And we believe we've created a list of nominations that is unique; packed with hidden gems that you won't have seen before.

Check out Stickman Madness, a FREE un-textured wire-frame 3D World full of stickman characters that has charm, humour and a large amount of cold-blooded violence nominated in the Innovative Visual Effects and Best Casual Game categories. Or who would get your vote in the best new character category between Kratos, God of War or Samorost the space gnome in Samorost 2?

There are over 50 different games nominated, so there's something for everyone and 15 of them are FREE. The nominees for Best Game are set out below, but you should visit our website to check out the candidates in a range of exciting categories. And most importantly of all, there is one category where your opinion counts! The ATI CrossFire™ People's Choice award is where you have your say - and as a thank you for voting, you will entered in a draw to win over £1,000/$2,000 of hardware upgrades.
