I remember getting a nasty virus on my laptop doing something along those lines. After infecting approximately 8000 files and my virus scanner not able to stop it (just quarantine the infected files every time I scanned) I was left with no choice but to reformat. It was no fun I can assure you!
Yes the fun of reformating.
Yes the fun of reformating. I had a laptop on which i had to do that about 5 times over the course of about 6 months. Kept getting different viruses all the time, (turned out the firewall and av i was using were fraged). Anyway now i am using the same computer to write these messages and i havent had a virus in over a year (touchwood). So no dodgy sites for me.
