I think we should try this for our next comp as a first person shooter.
Viper

Can it be loaded without
Can it be loaded without haveing to deleate my steam version?
I Like the idea of this game for the comp as well.
i have a REAL cracked steam
i have a REAL cracked steam version, much less buggy, and you only need 5 files, people with the steam game already can use their files too!
Yes i also have the full
Yes i also have the full version of half life 2 with steam and does not cause any issues as it is a non steam version.
huh? why get an extracted
huh?
why get an extracted version when you have the full version?
it is much easier to use the .gcf files with a steam emulator.
you need to copy 6 files!
this way it is much easier to make sure everyone has the same version without re-copying 15000 files to every computer...
those extracted versions are usually older updates, with my version you can have the latest patch with every bugfix and everything
So how do you get the latest
So how do you get the latest updates for it without an original version?
you get it off someone with
you get it off someone with the latest update! :D
you can also download the files but it is easier to copy like this, then everyone with a legal version can share, instead of one person sharing, everyone gets the game much faster.
But updates are auto
But updates are auto download not a file download. How can others get it?
What ever you recond penwin
What ever you recond penwin boy.
the games are stored in
the games are stored in files called 'GCF' files. these are updated as the games are updated.
CS:S needs 7 files to play.
and it is an auto download, but where do you think the files go?
they go in these files.
the GCF is basically an archive packed with all the game files.
i have a program which allows you to play the full, up-to-date game from the 7 files.
the GCF's are in your steam\steamapps folder.
i will show u at the next lan.
Remeber if it is going to be
Remeber if it is going to be a comp game it has to be a version that does not change throught out the whole year so if the steam version and non steam version can both run have the non steam for lan use and the steam version for private use so viper has a great idea unless the ones with orignals are going to unpatch for lan then we might as well not even play it there
also dont pick this for spelling if u cant understand what the words r saying tuff cookies
by next year UT2007 will be
by next year UT2007 will be out.
'nuff said.
okay, i got it working, what
